The wood is 4" square and 1/4" thick walnut, cut by hand on a scroll saw. It's finished with 3 coats of a water-based polyurethane for water resistance so it can double as a coaster. It's backed with 1/8" thick cork painted to highlight the design and the beauty of the wood. Walnut wood grain varies a lot from board to board, every piece will be unique.
