Green Arrow has been around in the DC Universe almost as long as Batman (1939) - he first appeared in "More Fun Comics" issue #73 in November 1941! According to Wikipedia "his longevity was due to the influence of creator Mort Weisinger, who kept him as a back-up feature to the headlining Superboy...since Superman-related titles were all but guaranteed success during this period. Green Arrow endured the '40's and '50's relatively unchanged, outlasting most of his Golden Age contemporaries." ...lucky for us!
The wood is 4" square and 1/4" thick naturally green poplar, cut by hand on a scroll saw. It's finished with 3 coats of a water-based polyurethane for water resistance, and backed with 1/8" thick cork painted to accent the design - these deskorations can be safely used as coasters! Poplar wood grain varies a lot from board to board, so every deskoration is unique.
