1996. That's when the world was first introduced to the video game Quake. It built upon the Doom engine, with full real-time 3D rendering, and with various multiplayer options, and it's still popular enough today that it has a dedicated, yearly Con held in July in Grapevine, TX! This deskoration is of the famous Quake logo.
The wood is 4" square and 1/4" thick walnut, cut by hand on a scroll saw. They're finished with 3 coats of a water-based polyurethane for water resistance, and backed with 1/8" thick cork painted to highlight the design - these deskorations can double as coasters! Walnut wood grain is quite variable, so every deskoration is unique.
