"I'm not merciful or blessed. I'm just me. I've got a job to do and I do it....When the first living thing existed, I was there. Waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job will be finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave."
In the amazing comic book series The Sandman, Neil Gaiman, depicts Death as a perky (one of her favorite phrases is, "peachy keen!"), down-to-earth, young goth woman, with her signature silver ankh necklace and an eye of Horus marking under her right eye. She is 2nd oldest of her 7 brothers and sisters, The Endless, with Destiny being the only one older, followed by Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delirium.
The wood is 4" square and 1/4" thick walnut, cut by hand on a scroll saw. It's finished with 3 coats of a water-based polyurethane for water resistance, and backed with 1/8" thick cork painted to highlight Death's ghostly pallor - these deskorations can double as coasters! Walnut wood grain is quite variable so every deskoration is unique.
You can find Death's younger brother Dream (10th photo) in another listing, and I'm hoping to get the rest of The Endless designed at some point.
Be sure to order a deskoration stand to display your new purchase on your desk or mantel - you can find the stands here: https://centuryartisans.com/products/deskoration-stands
